About R.A. Wagener

I write speculative fiction. My stories live in worlds just a half-step from our own: an alternate present where familiar tensions around identity, power, and technology get pushed just far enough to be viewed from outside, instead of inside. I'm less interested in predicting where we're headed than in sharpening how we see where we already are. Fiction, done right, doesn't hand you easy answers. It asks better questions and trusts you to sit with them.
